The story begins in Canada, where ten-year-old Amanda, riding her pony through the site of an ancient Cree First Nations village, experiences a mysterious and unexplainable event that will haunt her for the rest of her life. The encounter is vivid, powerful, and shrouded in mystery—a moment she cannot forget but struggles to understand.

Twenty-five years later, Amanda has built a successful life in Australia, juggling her career in advertising with family responsibilities. Her husband Kyle, an aviation enthusiast, presents her with an unusual birthday gift: an Aboriginal painting titled Homecoming. What seems like a thoughtful gesture soon emerges as the catalyst for a chain of extraordinary events.
When work takes priority over a planned family trip, Kyle and their children, Josh and Holly, set off on a weekend flying adventure to Tasmania. On their return flight, they encounter an alien force and engage in a chilling, otherworldly game of cat and mouse. The plane disappears without a trace, leaving Amanda devastated and desperate for answers.

Her search takes her deep into the Australian outback, where Aboriginal children stumble upon the wreckage during the "Night of the Emu." Amanda begins to experience vivid dreams and visions, as though reliving the moments of the flight. Her journey leads her to the small outback town of Tamboon Creek, where she meets Baringa, an Aboriginal artist and, by chance, the creator of Homecoming. Together, Amanda and Baringa embark on a road trip to unravel the secrets of the painting, the Dreaming, and the alien force that has shattered Amanda's world.

As the truth unfolds, Amanda's journey returns to Canada, where she reconnects with her Cree heritage. She uncovers the profound link between her childhood encounter and the events that have shaped her adult life. The mysteries of the painting and the Dreaming lead her to a revelation about her own identity, as Amanda discovers the power of Indigenous knowledge and spirituality in confronting the alien forces that challenge her understanding of the universe.
Landed is a thrilling and emotionally charged story that combines commercial elements with cultural richness. With breathtaking visuals spanning the snowy forests of Canada to the sun-soaked Australian outback, the film delivers suspense, action, and heart in equal measure. It explores how ancient wisdom and storytelling can guide us in an increasingly fractured world while offering a unique perspective on the mysteries of life, land, and the cosmos.

It’s June 3rd, 1969. Over 40 warships participate in a massive SEATO naval exercise in the South China Sea. At 3 a.m., Captain JP “Steve” Stevenson commands the HMAS Melbourne to launch an operation against a lurking submarine. The USS Frank E. Evans turns directly into the carrier’s path in a tragic twist. In moments, the destroyer is split in two. Seventy-four American sailors, including three brothers, are lost to the deep, their names later excluded from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

What begins as a horrific accident spirals into a high-stakes battle of politics, power, and betrayal. Steve faces a hastily convened inquiry, but it quickly becomes clear that the American and Australian governments are desperate for answers and a scapegoat.

Enter Jo Stevenson, Steve’s fiercely loyal wife and former Hollywood starlet. Forced to set aside her quiet life as a Navy wife and mother, Jo travels to Subic Bay, Philippines, to support Steve. What she uncovers shakes her to the core: falsified evidence, a compromised inquiry, and a powerful admiral determined to protect his own. As Jo delves deeper, the strain tests her marriage, resolve, and faith in justice.

The inquiry becomes a crucible for truth and courage. Jo’s relentless pursuit of justice uncovers the shocking conspiracy to frame her husband. Steve, a man devoted to the Navy since the age of twelve, must confront the betrayal of an institution he considered family. Together, they fight to clear his name in a courtroom showdown that exposes the ugly politics of wartime alliances.

But justice comes at a cost. Though Steve is honourably acquitted, his naval career is effectively over. Jo transforms her detailed notes into a bestselling book that finally brings the truth to light, but their battle for recognition isn’t over. Even today, the names of the 74 sailors lost that night remain absent from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

In the Wake is more than a courtroom drama or a historical thriller—it’s a poignant human story of love, loyalty, and the fight to honour forgotten people. With themes of personal sacrifice and political reckoning, it resonates deeply in a modern world where forgotten stories demand to be heard.
